How long are backups stored?
We determine the storage period according to your needs, internal procedures and applicable requirements. In practice, a shorter period for operational recovery and a longer period for the most important data are usually combined.
How long does it take to recover the data?
It depends on the amount of data, the system and the selected recovery scenario. In some cases, an individual file or letter is restored, in others a larger part of the data or the entire system, so we provide recovery deadlines at the planning stage.
Do you check the performance of backups?
Yes, just having copies is not enough - it is important to regularly check whether they can be successfully restored. We recommend that you periodically test the recovery procedures so that the data can be fully or partially restored at the time of the incident.
How are backups protected against ransomware?
For this, additional security measures can be used, such as isolation of copies and protection against modification or deletion. Such copies help protect data from unauthorized changes, deletion and malicious activity.
Is it enough to keep backups in the same environment?
No. We recommend storing copies of critical data separately and in isolation from the main environment so that they are not affected along with the master data in the event of an incident. This principle is emphasized by both NIST and CISA.
Is it possible to recover only one file, mail or folder?
Yes, in most cases it is possible to restore not only larger data sets, but also individual objects. For example, in the Microsoft 365 environment, both full and individual item recovery is possible.
How often should backups be made?
It depends on how important the specific data is to your business. For critical data, we can establish more frequent copying and less frequent for less sensitive data, so that protection is aligned with real need and cost.
