Twenty years in the IT market represents more than just accumulated experience; it reflects an ability to constantly adapt to technological shifts and evolving client expectations. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this month, Heximus has spent two decades becoming a trusted business IT partner, helping companies build secure, efficient, and modern IT infrastructure.

To mark the company's anniversary, Heximus CEO Giedrė Ruginytė-Čepienė discusses the company's growth journey, partnerships with global technology manufacturers, team culture, evolving business needs, and the vision for the years ahead.

You joined Heximus in 2013. How would you summarize the company's development from its inception to today?

I joined Heximus during a relatively quiet stage, so I was part of the company's active growth phase. We grew organically—we didn't have or seek investor support. We focused on helping our clients grow their businesses, and we grew alongside them. We built everything on a foundation of trust and referrals.

In recent years, Heximus has strengthened its partnerships with global IT hardware manufacturers and earned significant certifications. What do these achievements mean for your clients?

We strive to provide top-tier services and customize IT solutions for every company as much as possible. This requires not only high-level expertise and a strong team but also close partnerships with the world's largest IT manufacturers.

To become partners with such manufacturers, we must constantly certify, deepen our knowledge, keep up with technological innovations, and prove that we can offer our clients the highest quality solutions. These partnerships are a testament to our competence.

For clients, this means reliable, cutting-edge technology solutions, professional consulting, and competitive pricing. Top-tier partnerships allow us to offer highly favorable acquisition terms, ensuring our clients get the best value for their money.

Heximus is growing consistently, both in terms of client numbers and revenue. What has contributed most to this growth?

Unquestionably, our people. Our team is curious, constantly interested in innovation, modern, and, in the best possible way, a little "obsessed" with technology.

We often say at the company that we don't just sell computers and IT services—we create work organization solutions. We help our clients work more efficiently and flexibly, ensuring mobility and seamless accessibility. Above all, we aim to solve the client's problem and create real added value for them.

A large portion of our new clients come to us through referrals. This shows that trust isn't just a buzzword—it translates into long-term relationships and growth. We are pleased that both our client base and revenue grow every year, and we have no intention of stopping.

The IT professional market is highly competitive. How do you manage to attract and retain highly qualified employees?

We live by the "It's a pleasure to work here" philosophy. I sincerely believe that balance is essential in life—workplaces have long since moved toward becoming comfortable environments, rather than just places where you sell hours to an employer.

Pleasant communication, appreciation, and trust give our employees the freedom to be the best version of themselves, and our clients feel that. I believe this is our greatest strength in retaining and attracting top talent and helping them grow.

Many companies talk about values, but not all manage to turn them into everyday practice. How is the "It's a pleasure to work here" philosophy reflected in your company's operations?

I believe that success lies in simplicity. We don't set utopian slogans, unreachable goals, or formal values. When a person is valued and respected, communication becomes sincere and open. We enjoy coming to work, seeing our colleagues, solving client issues, and helping them. Naturally, the client feels this emotion too. We are all human—let's strive for simple things.

Over the past 20 years, not only have technologies changed, but so have client needs. How does Heximus adapt to changing business expectations today?

I would dare to say that we don't just adapt to change; we help shape it. We are constantly interested in technological innovations, monitoring market trends, and analyzing the latest IT solutions. We often learn about technological innovations long before they are widely introduced to the market.

We always offer our clients solutions that best meet their needs, taking into account their business specifics, current events, and best market practices. That is why I always say that in a constantly changing and dynamic IT market, an external, specialized partner with a wide range of competencies is one of the best solutions. In our case, it is an entire IT center of excellence in one place.

What advice would you give to business leaders who are considering investing in IT infrastructure and security today?

The greatest value of a company—the new gold—has not been capital for years; it is data, and then more data. Data security, accessibility, recovery, and sharing are the foundation of your business success and your primary tool.

Of course, invest wisely, having evaluated the proposed solutions and the company's future prospects and cycles. I am glad that, unlike 20 years ago, we no longer need to convince managers that IT infrastructure is not a cost center, but a fundamental and strategic business decision that ensures success and continuity.

Which indicators best show you that a company is moving in the right direction—financial results, client loyalty, team growth, or something else?

All the listed indicators are important. As a manager, I always view growing results positively. I understand that long-standing companies go through different stages—rapid growth, stability, or slowdown. This is a natural part of business development.

However, the philosophy of growth has always been closer to me. I sometimes joke that a straight line on a graph reminds me of a heart monitor screen—we all know what a straight line means there. To me, growth shows two things: either you are doing something very well, or you are able to adapt to a constantly changing market. I am glad that Heximus has both of these traits.

Celebrating your 20th anniversary, what vision do you see for Heximus for the coming years?

Our vision is very clear—to help businesses grow through IT solutions. We want to be a center of excellence for key IT competencies, strengthen partnerships with global technology manufacturers, and nurture our "It's a pleasure to work" philosophy. I believe we already have all the most important components of success in our hands.

We are constantly looking for people to join our team and for interesting projects that allow us to grow, improve, and continuously raise our competencies. I hope that as we grow, we will maintain the highest quality standards and continue to value every client as our most important one.
